At last, Apple Crisp Studios gallery and blog is being launched. This theme, “Suffusion,” though beautifully designed and flexible, will not be the theme for the site. I am still deliberating on my choice of theme. I have two main contenders. Very soon I will make my decision! In some ways there are many photography gallery and blog themes to choose from, but in other ways, it seems limited. There are certain features I want for this site, and I don’t want to spend my precious time figuring out how to modify an existing theme to suit my needs. I don’t mind a little customizing, but that is not where I want to put my focus. I’ve got a couple themes in mind that seem to have most of the needed attributes. I am determined to make my decision over the next couple days. Then I can move on to creating the galleries and writing about the photos and photography and who I am as a photographer.
So, let’s just start with this. How the heck did I get the name Apple Crisp? Here is the story of how I took on this crunchy, sweet name. A few years ago I found Flickr. I had to come up with a user name. In eBay I was “peachplumpie,” and I liked that, but that wasn’t quite right for my Flickr identity. But, I was certain, that yummy name was on the right track. Okay, so what else is delicious? One of my favorite deserts popped into my mind: apple crisp. And I knew I had hit gold. Apple crisp wasn’t just a fabulous desert, there was the apple factor. The crisp apple factor. Perfect, I thought, for crisp, juicy, delicious photos. So Apple Crisp it was, and it still is.
